PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit using a minimum spatial region. SOLUTION: An insulator lattice is produced using a number of lattice atoms for producing a sufficiently flat surface having a lattice array. A chemically unsatisfied bond on this surface is terminated by arraying atoms, and the surface is insulated for obtaining an insulating lattice surface. Atoms are located at predetermined positions on the insulating surface to produce a first atomic chain, which indicates the behavior of a conductor, semiconductor, or insulator. A second atomic chain is produced by locating atoms at predetermined positions on the insulating surface, and indicates the behavior of a new conductor, semiconductor, or insulator. These atomic chains are so arranged that the second atomic chain is electrically coupled with the first atomic chain, and the second atomic chain behaves differently from the first atomic chain. That is, the first atomic chain is arrayed at a first atomic spacing while the second atomic chain is arrayed at a second atomic spacing. In this case, the second atomic spacing differs from the first atomic spacing. |
