ALUMINA-SPINEL CASTING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina-spinel casting material remarkably improved in slag infiltration as compared to the conventional material used for the lining of a laddle or the like used for various refinements. SOLUTION: This alumina-spinel casting material consists of 10-96wt.% spinel clinker, 2-88wt.% alumina raw material and 2-15wt.% alumina cement. At least one part of the spinel clinker is a clinker containing a material consisting of Mg-Al-O expressing the diffraction ray of interplaner spacing of d=2.40, 1.99 in powder X-ray diffraction.
