HEAD / PREAMPLIFIER RIBBON CONNECTION STRUCTURE FOR DATA STORAGE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection structure for electrically connecting the two or more metal pads of a read/write transducer head and the two or more metal pads on the surface of a rigid printing circuit or a flexible printing circuit. SOLUTION: An improvement is made for the data storage device provided with the read/write transducer head 40 and an active electronic device 44. As the improvement, a ribbon connection structure 50 provided with at least one supporting tape 70 and at least two cylindrical conductors 60 is provided. The ribbon connection structure 50 is provided with first and second end parts opposing each other and the at least two cylindrical conductors are fixed and attached to the at least one supporting tape in parallel and planar relation. The prescribed part of the at least one supporting tape is removed from the first and second end parts and the end parts of the cylindrically shaped conductors are mutually freely moved in many axial directions.
