PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a trouble that SS is concentrated in the adjacent interval of hollow yarn membranes and a flow path is blocked up by more enlarging the stretching allowance rate of the hollow yarn membrane which is shown by the ratio of rectilinear distance between supporters and length of the hollow yarn membrane as it is positioned lower downstream in the hollow yarn membrane module of an immersion type membrane separator. SOLUTION: In the hollow yarn membrane module of an immersion type membrane separator in which many pieces of hollow yarn membranes 11 are stretched so as to cross an air lift ascending current when the many pieces of hollow yarn membranes 11 are provided between supporters 12, 13, the rectlinear distance between the supportors 12, 13 is shown is Lx and length of the hollow yarn membrane 11 is shown in L. In this case, the stretching allowance rate L/Lx of the hollow yarn membrane 11 is more enlarged as the hollow yarn membrane 11 is positioned downstream in a current. Thereby, the interval between the upper step and the lower step of the hollow yarn membrane 11 is widened. It is reduced that SS in liquid is caught in the interval of the upper and lower hollow yarn membranes. Such troubles are solved as that the flow path between hollow yarn membranes 11 is blocked, that the effective membrane area of the hollow yarn membrane 11 is decreased and that a flux is lowered.
