PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low pressure electrodeless discharge lamp generating a red light output suitable for automobile application. SOLUTION: An electrodeless discharge lamp 10 contains a lamp envelope 12 in which a neon gas filler 14 is sealed, a ferrite coil member 16 arranged so as to be actually surrounded with the lamp envelope 12, and a stabilized circuit device 24 which drives the neon gas filler in the discharge state to generate a red light output by receiving input power, generating an operation signal, and bonding the operation signal to the neon gas filler through the ferrite coil member 16. The stabilized circuit device 24 contains a capacitor member 30 constituting a tuning circuit together with the ferrite coil member 16, the tuning circuit supplies the operating signal as a high frequency sine wave signal. The high frequency sine wave signal is selectively switched in on and off states so as to generate a flashing light output. |
