The invention relates to stepping switches on adjustable transformers. The stepping switch connects two mobile distribution contacts (SKM), after the first one at least one vacuum breaker (SKV) suitable for switching of the load current is connected, and after the second module distribution-contact (HKW) - a suitable breaker (HKV) for connecting the balanced current, is connected. The two distribution-contacts can be driven regardless of each other in such a way that one of them is slowly driven, and the other follows the first one by a thrust, the sequence of their movement being independent from the direction of switching.
