A bank of collecting electrodes of an electrostatic precipitator which contains a sequence of rows of collecting electrodes hanging vertically, in which particular electrodes have a smooth collecting surface made of a strap of a sheet metal plate and, on edges, stiffening sections clipped together in one or a few spots. Characterized in that: adjacent collecting electrodes (1, 2), on opposite stiffening sections in the form of outer stiffening shelves (3), have one or a few openings (4) connected with one another with a connector running in such a way that its blocking element (5) is fixed in the opening of the electrode (1) and its guiding surface (6) is loosely mounted in the opening of the electrode (2).
