Vibration absorber flanged to component with elastomer-coupled mass

The cantilevered arm forming the fixing flange (1) can oscillate in the direction from which the vibrations come (5) and forms an L-shape in cross-section made up of two legs (6,7) of dissimilar length. The shorter leg (6) is connected to the vibrating component (2) as against the longer leg (7) which is connected to the spring (4) and the absorption mass (3). The mass and spring are mounted on the side of the leg furthest from the short leg. A second elastomer spring element is interposed on the component where this is joined to the specifically metal flange as screwed (10) for preference to the component. The mass is totally enclosed by the elastomer spring and the two legs (6,7) of the flange are braced together by a stiffener (11).
