The use is disclosed of oil-soluble, oleophilic organic liquid phases which are fluid at a temperature range from 0 to 10 ~C from the corresponding classes of mono- and/or polycarboxylic acid esters, carbon dioxide ester, fatty alcohols and their oligoalkoxide and/or ethers which constitute the at least major part of the liquid phase in storage-stable homogeneous mixtures with guar gum and/or water-soluble guar gum derivatives, to allow their use in water-based bore-hole treatment media.
