Mach Zehnder type electro=optical polymer-waveguide modulator

The modulator has two electrodes. These are formed on a first arm or on a second arm of the modulator. The initial output signal state of the modulator can be controlled by subsequent photo-fading. The two electrodes are of different lengths to control the initial phase difference between the signals running through the two arms, using the photo-fading.
