A camera dolly (10) has a track wheel system including a kingpin (12) pivotally supported on a dolly chassis (11). A kingpin tube (24) extends laterally from the kingpin (12). An axle (26) is pivotally supported within the tube (24) on pins (28). A track wheel (18) around a bearing (44) is supported on bushing (42) on the axle (26). A knob unit (30) threaded into the axle (26) may be turned into a locked position wherein the track wheel (18) is supported as in a conventional axle. For use on curved track, the knob unit (30) is released or backed out, allowing the track wheel (18) to shift laterally, to accommodate moving on curved dolly track (50), and to allow the wheel (18) to steer on the track at a proper steering angle, by pivoting on the pins (28).
