EXTENSION OF ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION USING DONER SPLENIC CELL PROVIDED WITH LAPAMYCIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the survival time of an organ or a tissue implant by administering specific cells to the recipient of the organ or the tissue implant to impart with immunosuppression and to prevent or cure graft rejection. SOLUTION: Rapamycin loaded donor spleen cells are administered to an implant recipient of a mammal in an effective amount. The rapamycin loaded donor spleen cells derived from a donor animal are suspended in a physiologically permissible liquid support to obtain a drug composition for suppressing an immune system in a mammal which receives an organ or a tissue implant. The rapamycin loaded donor spleen cells are obtained by separating spleen cells from a donor spleen, incubating the spleen cells together with a rapamycin solution, washing the spleen cells to remove non-bound rapamycin and suspending the obtained rapamycin loaded spleen cells in a liquid support physiologically suitable for intravenous administration to a recipient of an organ or a tissue.
