PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical pickup which has a shielding effect to noises, is easily producible and capable of reducing the number of parts by constituting a cap member and base plate of housing member of metallic material and joining these members by a prescribed method. SOLUTION: A housing member of the optical pickup is composed of a substrate 4 and cap 15 which are the metallic members. The substrate 4, on which a light source 1, a light guide member 5, a photodetector 13, etc., are mounted, is formed out of a material contg. one among Fe, FeNi alloy and FeNiCo alloy, is easy to weld and has an effect as an electromagnet shield to the noises. The cap 15, joined to the substrate 4 covering the members forming the pickup, is formed out of a material contg. at least any among FeNi alloy and FeNiCo alloy. Either of the substrate 4 and the cap 5 is provided with a projection to allow easy welding. |
