PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the enlargement of unnecessary discharge and stabilize display operation by localizing a discharge space every unit luminescent region, and limiting a path through which discharge is enlarged to the adjacent unit luminescent region. SOLUTION: A pair of sustained electrodes X, Y corresponding to one line of display is arranged on the inner surface of a glass substrate 1 on the display surface side of glass substrates 1, 2 facing on both sides of a discharge space. The electrodes X, Y are constituted with a transparent conductive film 4 and a metal film 3 for supporting the transparent conductive film 4, the metal film 3 is arranged in a belt shape on the inner surface of the glass substrate 1, and the transparent conductive film 4 is separately arranged on the discharge space 7 side through a dielectric layer 5. A stripe-shaped partition wall 10 extending in the direction perpendicularly crossing to the sustained electrodes X, Y is arranged on the inner surface of the glass substrate 2 on the back side, and by the partition wall 10, the discharge space 7 is partitioned every unit luminescent region in the extended direction of the sustained electrodes X, Y. |
