DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unnecessary storage medium capacity by solving the problem that delay is generated until a right video image is displayed at the time of reproduction when stream data are recorded as it is in the case of recording MPEG2-TS. SOLUTION: In the case of recording the transport stream data, the stream data are analyzed in a main processor 1025 when a recording instruction is issued from a user. Then, recording of irreproducible stream data is prevented and the unnecessary recording capacity is reduced by properly setting a recording starting point based on arrival time of packets such as PAT, DIT and PCT.
