PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously carry out continuous clear printing without running, feathering, etc., on the outer surface of 'YOKAN' (Japanese sweet bean-paste jelly) or 'AWAYUKI' (sweet gelatin cake), by preforming a film of gelatin on the outer surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A gelatin film having 0.05-4mm thickness is formed on the outer surface of 'YOKAN' or 'AWAYUKI' by a method for coating or spraying the surface with a dissolved gelatin solution or casting the gelatin solution into a forming mold and casting the 'YOKAN' or 'AWAYUKI' thereon, etc., and printing is carried out by screen printing or other conventional methods.
