The method involves creating a room (1) which has a floor (3) and walls (5). On the top side the room is limited by a sheet ceiling partition (7). The sheet is fixed to the walls by means of an installation lath (9) and tension laths (11). If required, it is always possible to fit two sheets at a specific distance one above the other. Firstly, the required height of the ceiling partition is determined. Then the installation laths are fixed to the wall and the sheet with tension laths is fixed to the walls via the installation laths. Finally, the sheet is locally heated, causing it to expand. The heating is effected with e.g. a gas burner at several places covering e.g. approximately 40 per cent of the sheet. After cooling, the sheet through its shrinkage properties forms a complete and level surface.
