PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device controlling a speed change shift in a manner wherein a fuel cut can be efficiently performed. SOLUTION: A present position of a vehicle is detected (S14), a road condition in the present position is researched (S16), and a target car speed corresponding to the researched road condition is set (S18). A speed change shift is selected so as to efficiently perform a fuel cut in accordance with the researched road condition (S20). Since a play of a brake pedal is large set, a step-in amount of the brake pedal till actuating a hydraulic brake is increased, and the fuel cut can be performed for a long time. |
