<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a higher sterilization effect and a cleaning effect of a germicidal lamp by mounting a number of blades in a drum to get crushed material raked up, dispersed and dropped by the rotation of the drum, in an ultraviolet germicidal lamp which is set in a drum to sterilize the crushed material supplied into the drum. SOLUTION: A material is fed by a fixed amount into a rotary drum 1 from a material tank 20 via a rotary valve 18 and a material feeding tube 12 to sterilize the material by an ultraviolet germicidal lamp 7 provided in the drum 1. In an apparatus of such a type, a number of agitation blades 2 are mounted on an internal wall of the drum 1. The drum 1 is supported on a rotary ring 11 and the drum 1 is rotated by running the rotary ring 11 with a motor to induce a motion that gets the material inside the drum raked up and dropped from above under stirring. Thus, dispersion of the material is performed effectively to sterilize the material effectively by a group of ultraviolet germicidal lamps 7 thoroughly while the dropping material works to clean the surface of the ultraviolet germicidal lamps 7.</p> |
