FIELD: radiation protection. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at developing efficient and low-toxic composition for X-ray-protection material workable at high temperatures (90-250 C) and under mechanical exposure (shock, fall, vibration) as coating on metal surfaces of device guard means. Polymer composition contains silicon- containing low-molecular rubber with empirical formula [CHSiO]•n, 100 weight parts; tin(IV) diethylcaprylate with empirical formula CHOSn, 6- 8 weight parts; and antimony(III) oxide, yttrium oxide, and oxides of rare elements with serial numbers 57,58-71, 350-450 weight parts. Weight ratio of antimony oxide to the rest of oxides is 1:1. Material prepared from this composition 10-20 times weakens intensity of X-ray radiation, possesses mechanical strength 3.5 mPa and adhesion on steel 35 kgf, and is resistant to temperatures 90-250 C.
