摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor stimulated solid-state laser which can be made compact and high in quality and efficiency, and produce a high quality of a beam, and also to provide a device which can produce a square beam with a high cooling efficiency and with less thermal strain. SOLUTION: A cooler house 18 includes a metallic base 40 and an upper surface cooling member 46. A semiconductor laser section (LD) 10 is fastened with a screw to the base 40 through a sheet 68 made of a highly heat-conductive and highly electrical insulating material, and a laser crystal 12 is held with screws between the upper surface cooling member 46 and base 40. A cooling- water passage is provided through the base 40 and upper cooling member 46. Heat in the LD 10 and the laser crystal 12 is conducted to the cooling water through the base 40 and upper surface cooling member 46. The laser crystal 12 has a brick shape of a thin rectangular parallelopiped.
