Each channel has a first mixer (M12, M22) at a single sideband receiving a local signal (FIp, FIq) at a fixed intermediate frequency and a second mixer (M14, M24) receiving a reference signal (SRR) similar to the two reception channels and taken from an auxiliary reception channel (AR, ALR). The first mixers are preceded and followed by radar frequency insulators (I11, I21, I13, I23) while the reference channel includes a frequency filter. The mixed signals are amplified (AL18, AL28) and passband filtered (F17, F19, F27, F29) and input to a phase comparator (CP) which acts as a coherent demodulator and provides information on sine and cosines which together with information on level (n1, n2) are digitalised by and A-to-D converter (CN35) for processing (T40).
