PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system with which the remaining capacity of batteries on the remote control (transmission) side is estimated on the electronic equipment (reception) side without loading any burden on the remote control (transmission) side, a function for warning the exchange timing of batteries to a user is added, the responsiveness reduction of remote controller is relaxed and the state of continuous transmission caused by unwitting depression of key of remote controller is warned to the user. SOLUTION: A luminance detection part 16 detects infrared luminance level reduction characteristics from the luminance level of infrared signal received by an infrared light receiving part 11 and discriminated normal by an infrared signal error discriminating part 12. A remaining remote controller battery capacity estimating part 17 estimates the remaining capacity of batteries from the characteristics of luminance level reduction as mentioned above. When this reduction of remaining battery capacity is detected, a remaining battery capacity alarm discriminating part 18 reports it to a remaining capacity alarm output part 19 and the remaining battery capacity alarm output part 19, which receives this report, performs the warning of remaining battery capacity to the user. |
