<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grommet which can improve the easiness in mounting on the body panel of a car and can generate certain waterproof seal in the mounted condition. SOLUTION: A grommet concerned includes a minor diametric cylindrical part 10a to admit insertion of a wire harness W/H, a major diametric cylindrical part 10b continued to the front extremity of the minor diametric cylindrical part, and a folded-back part 10c formed by folding back from the front extremity of the major diametric cylindrical part, wherein a detaining recess 10d to be engaged by the inside edge of a through hole 11a formed in a car body panel 11 is provided in the outside surface of the folded-back part. The first detent projection 10e is provided on the inside surface of the folded-back part while the second detent projection 10f is provided on the outside surface of the major cylindrical part confronting in a position rear more than the first projection, and the retaining recess is positioned in the through hole and the major cylindrical part is pressed forward from the minor cylindrical part so that the folded-back part is enlarged in the diameter, and the first projection is engaged by the second projection in the condition that the bottom of the recess is in tight attachment with the inside surface of the through hole, and this condition of pressure contact is locked.</p> |
