PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high charging/discharging capacity and suppress the reduction of the charging/discharging capacity during the storage over a long period or during the storage at a high temperature by forming the carbonaceous material of a negative electrode with carbonaceous grains porous on the surface and having the specific surface area of a specified value. SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 5 containing a carbonaceous material storing or releasing lithium ions, and a lithium ion conductive electrolyte. The carbonaceous material of the negative electrode 5 is formed with carbonaceous grains porous on the surface and having the specific surface area of 2m<2> /g-10m<2> /g. The lithium secondary battery excellent in the storage characteristic and having a high capacity is obtained. |
