COMPUTER-AIDED WORK AND INFORMATION SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED MODULE

CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) and/or CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems are known from the prior art. According to the invention, the system is designed such that object-oriented engineering of a plant with sufficient performance for interactive operation is possible. To this end, the system comprises a data model which represents in a physical product model the objects of the plant structure which exist in reality. Built about the abstract physical product model are applications which do not have their own data model. The applications form a window onto the abstract physical model, the window visualizing the abstract physical model in an application-specific manner especially for plant and/or electrical engineering. A module for use with this system employs a single classification method when structuring specific objects.
