METHOD FOR DESALINATING AND DEMINERALISING SOLUTIONS CONTAINING ACIDS AND/OR METAL SALTS

A method for desalinating, demineralising and optionally crystallising solutions containing acids and/or metal salts, comprising the steps of (a) conditioning pre-clarified solutions using a chemical reagent that inhibits salt precipitation, then optionally filtering the solutions; (b) concentrating the salts in a supersaturated brine that represents a 5-80 % fraction of the flow of solution to be treated; and (c) reducing and possibly neutralising the precipitation inhibiting effect in said brine, and precipitating out the crystallisable salts supersaturating the concentrated fraction.
