The packaging aid comprises a flat surface, with two surface parts (2,3) across which the open box and the item are displaced towards one another via transport rollers (4) extending across the surface of each part. The bottom open flap (7) of the box can drop into the gap (5) between the spaced parts, before the part supporting the packaged item is tipped upwards for feeding the item into the box.
