PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a squeak when a shaft and a bumper are brought into contact with each other by arranging a projection on the inner circumferential face of the bumper in an oil seal following eccentricity of the shaft. SOLUTION: A gutter spring 6 is fitted in a ring type mounting groove 4a on the outer circumferential face of a ring type seal lip 4, which is integrally molded on one end side of a bumper 3 and is brought into tight contact with a shaft 5 freely slidably. On the inner circumferential face of the bumper 3, a desired number of projections 3b preventing generation of a squeak in the case of contact with the shaft 5 are arranged at equal intervals. In each of the projections 3b which are long in the axial direction, a cross section in the shaft orthogonal direction is formed into an isosceles triangle, and a linear ridge line 3c is arranged along the axial direction. If the shaft 5 is not deflected from the center, the ridge line 3c in each of the projections 3b is not brought into contact with the circumferential face 5a of the shaft 5. A clearance 7 is arranged between the ridge line 3c and the circumferential face 5a, and if the shaft 5 is deflected from the center, the shaft 5 is brought into linear contact with one or more projection/projections 3b so as to be prevented from face contact In this way, a contact area between the shaft 5 and the bumper 3 is reduced, and generation of a squeak is prevented. |
