PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological water-treatment apparatus suitable for a cylindrical treatment tank and easy in the arrangement of long fiber bundles used as a circular bacteria supporting material. SOLUTION: A biological water-treatment apparatus 10 is equipped with a cylindrical treatment tank 12, the bacteria supporting member 14 arranged in the treatment tank 12 and the air dispersing part 16 provided under the bacteria supporting member 14. A water sprinkling pipe 18 introducing water to be treated and an air diffusion pipe 20 introducing air are connected to the bottom part of the treatment tank 12 and a treated water discharge pipe 22 and an exhaust pipe 24 are connected to the upper part of the treatment tank 12. The bacteria supporting member is constituted of supports 26 and a large number of long fiber bundles 28 trained over the supports 26 and a large number of the long fiber bundles are radially arranged from the center of the treatment tank toward the circumference of the treatment tank. The air dispersing part 16 provided under the bacteria supporting member is constituted of a reticulated pipe part 48 wherein cylindrical reticulated pipes are piled up and a packed part 50 wherein the gap having a semicircular cross-sectional surface between the reticulated pipe part 48 and the treatment tank 12 is packed with a plastic packing material.
