PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain plastic film, no reduction of width of which occurs and which is wrinkle-free and has excellent quality, in the calendering method for the plastic film and device therefor. SOLUTION: In the calendering of a plastic film 26 by applying pressure between a pair of pressure rolls 28 and 30, the peripheral speeds of which are different from each other, the plastic film 26 is calendered by the calendering ratio substantially determined by the speed ratio of the low peripheral speed pressure roll 28 to the high peripheral speed pressure roll 30. A nip roll 36, which nips the plastic film 26 together with the low peripheral speed pressure roll 28, is provided so as to make the running speed of the plastic film 26 substantially equal to the peripheral speed of the low peripheral speed pressure roll 28 in the peripheral portion of the low peripheral speed pressure roll 28 between the part, at which the plastic film 26 comes into first contact with the low peripheral speed pressure roll 28, and a calender deforming point lying between the low peripheral speed pressure roll 28 and the high peripheral speed pressure roll 30. |
