PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stretched polylactic acid sheet or film, excellent in lubricating, heat sealing, sheet melting and cutting off performances and further having thermal dimensional stability imparted thereto. SOLUTION: This stretched polylactic acid sheet or film consists essentially of a polylactic acid-based polymer containing L-lactic acid and D-lactic acid at (100:0) to (94:6) or (6:94) to (0:100) compositional ratio of the L-lactic acid to D-lactic acid and a biodegradable aliphatic polyester having <=0 deg.C glass transition temperature Tg . The content of the biodegradable aliphatic polyester is 3-70 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polylactic acid-based polymer. The drawn polylactic acid sheet or film is heat-treated after drawing in at least the uniaxial direction.
