A circuit for removing a ghost and instability of a screen in a television receiver is disclosed. A tuner and intermediate frequency processor (11) detects a received broadcasting signal and converts the broadcasting signal into an intermediate signal. A sync separator(16) separates a sync signal from an output of tuner and intermediate frequency processor (11) and generates a clock. A timing generator(21) receives the sync signal and a system clock and outputs clamp and control signals. An analog/digital converter(12) converts an output of tuner and intermediate frequency processor (11) into a digital signal based on the clamp signal. A FIFO memory(17) stores a ghost rejection reference signal among outputs of analog/digital converter(12). A processor reads the ghost rejection reference signal stored in FIFO memory(17) and outputs address and count data for removing the ghost.
