A patient carrying device for allowing a patient to freely travel to and from the bed, the toilet, and the bath in a comfortable posture, comprising first and second mobile vehicles (10A and 10B) that are driven by a second motor (13) so as to freely and independently run along a rail (4), the mobile vehicles (10A, 10B) each comprising a pulley (15) for winding up and/or down a suspending rope (17) and a first motor (12) for driving the pulley, the first and second motors (12, 13) being operated in accordance with pre-programmed instruction by operating buttons on a remote controller (30), wherein when a button for "bathing" is operated, the first and second mobile vehicles (10A, 10B) each automatically control the space therebetween, independently run along the rail (4) and wind up and/or down the suspending rope (17) via the pulley (15) to thereby hoist and carry the patient to the bathroom.
