Measurement of a body parameter is effected by mechanically producing a skin fold through which a cannula is inserted. A probe is also positioned either in or under the skin. The probe is connected to a sensor and measuring device for monitoring alterations in body metabolism or chemical conditions. A drug is injected according to the monitored changes. The probe is secured in contact with the tissue liquid under the skin during the time required for analysis. Also claimed is the appts. for effecting the above diagnosis and therapy.
