<p>An assembly for conveying stacked documents (83; 134) comprises a conveying surface (5; 95) extending along the conveying path (2; 42) and a conveyor roller (4, 6; 44, 46; 96) suspended opposite thereto which is movable between positions at different distances from this surface (5; 95). In operating condition the conveyor roller (4, 6; 44, 46; 96) exerts a press-on force. For driving the conveyor roller (4, 6; 44, 46; 96), the apparatus comprises a transmission (10). Owing to this transmission (10) being coupled with the conveyor roller (4, 6; 44, 46; 96) in such a manner that if a couple is exerted thereon in the conveying sense, also a force directed against this press-on force is exerted on the conveyor roller (4, 6; 44, 46; 96), the temporary increase of the couple and the temporary reduction of the circumferential speed of the conveyor roller is limited. <IMAGE></p> |
