摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the shielding mechanism of an EL (electroluminescence) lamp contributing to an improvement in the assembly workability and thickness reduction in a liquid crystal display device using the EL lamp as a back light source. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 has the EL lamp 5 as the back light source. The EL lamp 5 has an EL lamp body 51 and a shielding layer 52 consisting of a conductive material formed by screen printing, etc., on its rear surface. A pair of terminals 53, 54 for impressing a driving voltage on the EL lamp body 51 and a terminal 55 for grounding the shielding layer 52 are drawn out of the flank of the EL lamp 5. These terminals are connected to the side of a circuit board 3 by a connecting method, such as soldering. Since the shielding layer 52 is integrated to the EL lamp body 51, the structure is made simpler than the case the shielding structure is composed by using a shielding plate of a separate member. In addition, the workability of the assembly is improved and the thickness reduction of the device is easy.
