PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the production of sulfite gas by the coloring developing base composition supplied as a solution and hold the stability of the coloring developing base solution excellent by incorporating two kinds of specific compound. SOLUTION: A compound (1) containing compounds (1) and (2) is a paraphenylene diamine coloring developing base and the compound (3) is N-alkyl orthotoluidine, N-dialkyl orthotoluidine, or salt of N-alkyl orthotouidine, or salt of N-dialkyl orthotoluidine. As a concrete example of the paraphenylene diamine coloring developing base, there are 4-amino-N-ehtyl(β-hydroxyethyl) aniline hydrosulfate, 4-amino-3-mehyl-N-ethyl-N-(β-methyl sulfone amide ethyl) aniline 3/2 hydrosulfate 1 hydrate, etc. As a concrete example of N-alkyl orthotoluidine, and N-dialkyl orthotoluidine, there are N-methyl orthotoluidine, N-dimethyl orthotoluidine, etc.
