EEPROM WITH ERRONEOUS ERASURE PREVENTION FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EEPROM with an erroneous erasure prevention function even if electrical conditions for writing data to the external terminal of a package are established by setting a physical switch to a wire prohibition side. SOLUTION: A physical switch 1 is provided on the package of an EEPROM so that the switch can be manually operated. When the physical switch 1 is set to write prohibition state, a circuit switching part 5 does not transmit the input from a write control terminal 2-1 to a read/write control circuit part 3. Therefore, even if electrical conditions for writing data to the write control terminal 2-1, a terminal 2-2 related to data read/write control, and a data input terminal 2-3 are established, the data at an internal memory array part 6 can neither be changed nor erased.
