PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the monitoring of a status related to image formation. SOLUTION: As lower statuses, four groups of a status related to paper size change, a status related to paper presence change, a status related to constitution change of paper feed part, and a status related to alarm content change are provided, and a status representing each group is further provided. Each lower status is confirmed in steps S501-S512, and when a change is present, the corresponding bit of an upper status is set. The signal line showing the content is made 'false' (step S514). A printer controller confirms a state change by the change of the signal line, and demands to transmit an upper status. On receiving the demand (step S515), the signal line is made 'true' (step S516), and the upper status is transmitted (step S517). |
