Cladding fixer to car body sheeting

The fixer clip (1) spreader (5,6) grips behind the edges of a hole (9) in the sheet metal part (10) in one direction. The hole (14) in the cladding itself (11) is narrower than the relaxed spreader in both directions. The clip has a head (3,4) on the cladding side furthest from the sheet metal. Preferably the cladding hole is square with radiused corners as against the elongated hole in the sheet metal, using stop faces (12,13) on the spreader facing away from the spreader axis. The spreader may engage via notching springs sprayed on close to the clip head. The spreader comprises two arrow-shaped arms both sides of the shaft (2), each with bearing and stop faces (7,8,12).
