Cleaning and protecting surfaces formed of bricks, slabs or tiles joined by cement-mortar

Surfaces and areas formed of paving bricks or slabs, or tiles of natural or artificial stone, arranged as usual and joined by cement-mortar, are cleaned and protected, not by running water under pressure, but are cleaned immediately after joining by a composition made in situ by mixing 100 parts of water with one part of a super-absorber, which can be left on the cleaned mortar to give protection against weathering. If a new protective layer is prepared, the ratio of super-absorber: water is 1:300.
