A knitted sock (1) has individual regions (2-9) thereof made from different yarns. Transitions (10-18) between the respective regions of different yarns are interlinked by catch stitches. In its simplist form (shown in Figure 2), the leg (2) and instep region (9) are made from one yarn (26) and the remainder from a different yarn (25).
