In order that the photographer, when taking a picture, obtains a number of different exposures without modifying the working aperture, set for example by measurement, of the camera, the flash device generates, according to the invention, a number of flashes depending upon the camera releases, the light intensity of which flashes changes automatically depending upon the different camera stop numbers required.
