A process for preparing calcium oxide, strontium oxide or barium oxide consists in the treatment of the corresponding hydroxides following the reactions (I): Ca(OH)2 → CaO + H2O; (II): Sr(OH)2 → SrO + H2O; (III): Ba(OH)2 → BaO + H2O; at temperatures comprised between 400 and 900 °C during a time between 1 and 15 hours under vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere. Preferably said reaction is caused to take place in a capsule with at least a portion of surface being permeable to the gas flow.
|
