PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adherence of organism to a structure without polluting the environment by installing, in a position where the structure crosses the surface of water, a float which intermittently comes into contact with the surface of the structure. SOLUTION: A polyethylene, a polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, or a polytetrafluoroethylene, or the like are used as the material for forming a float 1. The float 1 is designed so that when floating on the surface of water it has a clearance 2 of 0.2mm or more at regular position with respect to a structure 3 to match the configuration of the surface of the structure 3 which is the subject for preventing adherence of organism, and so that it has an apparent specific gravity of 1.03g/cm<3> or less. When the float 1 is floated in a position where the structure 3 makes contact with the surface 4 of the water, it is shaken according to the sea level or by waves and slides against the wall surface of the structure 3 to prevent adherence and growth of organism. |
