PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve feedability with the lessened friction resistance in a long-sized soft conduit cable and to execute welding with arcs stable over a long period of time even in the case where welding is executed by severely bending this conduit cable with a high current. SOLUTION: This process for producing the arc welding wire is executed by suspending polytetrafluoroethylene having 0.05 to 0.47μm particle size into water or an alcohol, after a Cu plating stage, and applying this suspension on the wire at 0.005 to 2g per 1kg, subjecting the wire to dry drawing with a solid lubricant and further to wet drawing with a liquid lubricant.
