PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing immediately after the completion of wiping by providing a means increasing heat value during the wiping operation by the signal of a control means to a heater means heating the vicinity of the nozzles of an ink jet head. SOLUTION: A wiping device 8 cleaning the nozzle surface of an ink jet head 11 is arranged and a tank heater heating the ink in an ink tank 12 and a front heater 16 heating the rear surface of a nozzle plate 20 are arranged. The ink tank 12 and the nozzle plate 20 are connected by a connection member having an ink passage. The temp. of the ink of the ink jet head 11 is controlled to objective temp. on the basis of the signal of the temp. sensor of the heater 16 by the control means of a controller to perform usual temp. control and, during wiping operation, the power supplied to the heater 16 is raised as compared with a usual case to keep the temp. of the ink in the vicinity of nozzles constant. Therefore, the lowering of nozzle temp. by wiping is prevented and printing can be started immediately after the completion of wiping. |
