<p>A wobble plate engine assembly (1) incorporating an offset mount (6) between the wobble plate (4) and each connecting rod (8) to a piston (7) such that a line of action of the connecting rod (8) at the wobble plate (4) is resolved into a centripetal and a tangential component thereby minimising the component of applied force directed through the wobble plate (4) and maximising the force applied along the wobble plate (4). The connections between the wobble plate (4) connecting rod (8) and pistons (7) incorporate spherical bearings (16, 17).
