<p>The mechanism to take and lay the fibre web from a carding machine, and the like, has an upper (10) and lower (14) trolley moving to and fro with acceleration at the direction change points. At least two continuous conveyor belts (18,20), passing round deflection rollers, carry the incoming web from the fixed entry (3) between the belts (18,20) along a path (8) to the upper trolley (10), for the lower trolley (14) to lay the web on a take-off (6) across the web lie. A higher entry gap (22) is formed at the entry (3), at the start of the incoming path (8) between the conveyor belts (18,20), according to the web thickness, so that the conveyor belts (18,20) converge at the start of the leading path (8) stretch. Also claimed is an operation to produce a nonwoven, where the carded web is taken from a conveyor into the fixed entry (3) between two continuous conveyor belts (18,20), to be carried by them over an initial path stretch (8) to a reciprocating upper trolley (10) for transfer to a reciprocating lower trolley (14) across the web width, to be laid on a take-off (6). The air carried by the carded web, on high speed feed, is removed successively between the belts (18,20).</p> |
